    Abul Hasanat Abdullah is a renowned Bangladeshi studentsgroom journalist who has made significant contributions to the field of journalism in his homeland. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the leading English-language newspaper in Bangladesh, The Daily Star. Abdullah’s career in journalism began when he was still a student at Dhaka University in the 1960s.     2. Abdullah has been recognized for his work in the field of journalism, both in Bangladesh and abroad. In 2000, he received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts, which is the highest honor in Asia. In 2007, he was awarded the International Press Freedom Award by the Committee to forbesexpress Protect Journalists. Abdullah has also served as a member of the International Press Institute, the executive committee of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), and the advisory board of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). In addition to his work in journalism, Abdullah is also a respected public figure in Bangladesh. He has served as a member of the governing board of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, the board of trustees of the Bangladesh Center for Development, Journalism and Communication (BCDJC), and the cgnewz  board of trustees of the Bangladesh Journalism Education Trust (BJET). Abdullah is a strong advocate for freedom of the press and press freedom. He has been a vocal critic of censorship and restrictions on the press. He has also been a vocal opponent of the Digital Security Act of 2018, which has been criticized for its potential to stifle free expression and media freedom in Bangladesh. Abdullah’s work in journalism carzclan  has been instrumental in promoting press freedom and freedom of expression in Bangladesh. His legacy as a journalist and public figure will continue to be remembered for generations to come.
